The Faroe Islands is a self-governing archipelago, part of the Kingdom of Denmark. It comprises 18 rocky, volcanic islands situated between Iceland and Norway in the North Atlantic Ocean. The island is connected by road tunnels, ferries, causeways and bridges. Adventure seekers are attracted to the island as are nature lovers, hikers and bird-watchers are drawn to the island's mountains, valleys and grassy heathland.
